Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 13,149 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Downloads

Download the latest version of this resource data as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A) or the resource metadata as EML or RTF:

Project Data

The Invertebrate Paleontology Department at the American Museum of Natural History houses a large collection of Late Cretaceous Mollusca most of which are Cephalopoda from the Western Interior Seaway (WIS) in the United States Northern Great Plains. As part of an NSF TCN grant, this dataset is the result of a digitization effort that captured data of 12,127 specimen/lots and georeferenced 671 AMNH localities using several programs, chiefly GEOlocate, Google Earth and Google Maps while following the MaNIS/HerpNet/ORNIS georeferencing guideline.

Title Digitization TCN: Collaborative Research: Cretaceous World: Digitizing Fossils to Reconstruct Evolving Ecosystems in WIS
Identifier NSF # 1601891
Funding National Science Foundation
Study Area Description Western Interior Seaway Cretaceous Research of Fossil Inverterbates
